Early Mk2 vehicles (approx. up to the end of 1974) were fitted with Mk1 type doors & fittings.
Mk1 Type To body number T21833LD, T20987LE (USA)
HOW TO IDENTIFY:
Fitting on rear of door (catch) is all metal. ‘B’ post catch plate is mounted using 3 screws.
Mk2 Type
From body number T21834LD, T20988LE (USA)
HOW TO IDENTIFY:
Fitting on rear of door (catch) is part plastic. ‘B’ post catch plate is mounted using 2 screws.
Note:
Has the door ever been replaced like for like?
It is possible to fit a Mk2 door to a Mk1, and vice-versa.
