Triumph TR7 Full Engines
FULL ENGINE BUILD-UP
When building up a full engine to a compete assembly, check the condition of your old water pump, if unsure, replace or overhaul with a reconditioning kit.
The condition of the radiator is crucial to ensure proper and efficient cooling - either replace or have tested professionally (see Warranties), as for all the hoses and thermostat, we strongly recommend these are examined carefully, or replaced as a matter of course. Engine mountings, clutch etc, should also be inspected and renewed where necessary.
Ensure correct strength anti-freeze is used in the cooling system. Carburettors should be in good working order with mixture and balance set correctly.
Please familiarise yourself with the running-in and head re-torquing instructions on the card supplied with every engine unit. If this card has become separated from the engine when you take delivery, please contact us.
'NEW' Full Engines
Over the years we have been constantly 'buying-up' large stocks of Brand New Short Engines and Cylinder Heads from Factory sources (these supplies are now almost exhausted). So, for the discerning owner who would prefer a New engine to reconditioned, you now have the choice.
Our Full Engines are actually built-up using a New Short Engine & Cylinder Head shell, with new components used throughout* (exceptions may include the sump pan and timing cover, where serviceable reconditioned units may be fitted). Full Engines are assembled ready to accept manifolds, water pump & other ancillaries. Additional installation information and running-in details are supplied with every unit.
We can also supply a 'Full Engine Build-up Kit' that includes all necessary gaskets/oil filter etc, enabling you to install the full engine in your vehicle. Alternatively, fitting can be arranged locally in Lincoln if required, please enquire for details & costs.
Bench Testing - New Full Engines
Bench testing can also be carried out on new engines at an additional cost, please enquire for details.
