Note; Reconditioned carb's are sold on a exchange basis. It is advisable to fit reconditioned carburettors in pairs.
SU's or Strombergs fitted
SU HS6 carburettors were fitted to UK and European specification vehicles only. For the USA, Canada, Australia and Japanese markets, Stromberg CD150's were fitted (either single or as twin). Fuel injection was also offered on vehicles for these countries. Our catalogue does not cover these areas, however, if you have any specific requirements please contact our sales office, where we can consult factory parts listings and advise you accordingly.
SU HS6 Carburettor Overhaul & Identification
It is quite straightforward (with the help of a workshop manual) to service and overhaul your carburettor(s) using the service items listed in this section. With the tightening of the MOT regulations regarding 'Exhaust Emissions', it is important that they are maintained in good order. We can recondition your own SU carburettors, or we can supply reconditioned units - on a strict exchange basis. The listings here however, are primarily for identification purposes, they will also show if you have the correct type fitted (engine numbers are quoted to help identify original factory specification, and relate to carb's fitted when the vehicle was new and not subsequent replacements). To check, they can be positively identified by a silver tag which is located on the float chamber and marked with the part number, ie; AUD634F (Front) or AUD634R (Rear). Having identified your carburettors, all you need do is then refer to the corresponding components.
