A 20 oz canvas hooding fitted as standard to many pre 1960 classic cars. For many years this material has been a popular upgrade to a vinyl hood particularly amongst Classic Car owners, however unless you have a specific requirement for old world authenticity then we strongly advise that you consider a Stayfast or Mohair hood. The colourfastness of Duck is not suited for sunnier climates where it would be subject to premature fading of colour.

Double Duck will require periodic treatment with a colour restorer to keep it in good condition.

We recommend this plastic female popper is used when the existing body stud on the vehicle is also plastic. If the plastic body stud needs replacing and since it is no longer available, we recommend replacing both the male & female poppers on the material with metal versions, along with a metal body stud.
If the male part on the vehicle is already metal, we recommend using the metal female popper 713501(for black) or 554517 (for silver).

Our hood stowage covers are 'padded' as original equipment, and compliment our range of hoods. For the (3 vertical) hood stowage boards, please refer to INTERIOR & TRIM - Rear Bulkhead & Trim/Shelf.

Hood Stowage Cover (PVC)
Includes poppers.
Top quality pvc material. In either 'Vynide' (Black), or 'Everflex' (Colours).

Hood Stowage Cover 'Double Duck'
Includes poppers.
A good quality canvas material which is available in Black only.

Hood Stowage Cover 'Mohair'
Includes poppers.
A very high quality mohair material which resists colour fade & creasing.

Poppers not attached!

Did this item work well with your project? What vehicle type are you using this for?
The stowage cover itself is of a good quality, however it was not clear to me when I ordered the cover, that the poppers that attach the stowage cover to the car body, are not fixed into place. Instead they are supplied loose in a plastic bag. A special tool (not supplied) and some skill is required to fix these poppers. In the end I found a local business that specialises in replacement hoods, and they attached the poppers for £40, which is very reasonable. In fairness Rimmer were very helpful when I complained and offered to send me a free tool for the poppers.
