Benefits include better starting/reliability, reduced maintenance and improved performance/mpg. (Distributor can also be converted back if so desired).

Triumph TR7, TR7 Sprint and TR7 V8 Electronic Ignition Kits
We offer Electronic Ignition Kits for all models which bring the benefits of a maintenance free ignition system (in place of contact points) with improved starting and on-road performance.
Kits are available for the standard TR7, Sprint TR7, and a lumenition kit for the V8 Opus distributor, fitted from '76-'85.
This kit converts the magnetic pick-up type electronic distributor to the simpler and more reliable optical triggering system.
No kit is available for the V8 35DM8 distributor (1985 on).
