Triumph TR6 Trim Panel Fittings
Trim Identification
The TR6 used basically two different grain vinyl materials throughout its production. These are best described as fine and coarse. Broadly speaking the grain pattern started production with fine and went to coarse in 1973 when CR/CF models were introduced. Numerous terms and descriptions have been used to describe the two grain patterns, so here goes with the glossary:
Fine = Early = Stage = SAS = Smooth
Coarse = Late = Bubble = Long Horn = Elephant Hide = 1290 grain
There are two distinct styles used in the welded face pattern of the liners. This pattern changed at CP50001. Another change happened to the door liners at CR12501 when the door closing pull was relocated from the padded door top to the centre of the door liner. This was a change that gave a more durable door pull closing method than the sculptured padded door top that had been used earlier.
Up to CP50000 the door liners and rear quarter liners had 4 horizontal welded lines and the rear cockpit liner had vertical welded lines.
From CP50001 to CR12500 the door, rear quarter and rear cockpit liners had 2 horizontal welded lines.
From CR12501 the liners had the same welded pattern as those previously, the door liners however were pierced centrally with an oblong hold to accommodate the door pull handle and pocket.
We do not list individual components of Non-Black trim kits. This is due to specification changes in modern materials which render it almost impossible to guarantee either colour or grain match with O.E. panels. If, however, an individual panel is needed, it may be possible to specially order it (pre-paid) on the understanding that it will only match what we currently supply. The required item may have to be purchased as part of a pair. Please telephone to make necessary arrangements.
Interior trim kits (and seat covers/carpets) are also available in special colours (e.g. biscuit or mid-blue) to pre-paid order.
We also offer leather faced interior trim panel kits which are ideal if you are fitting leather seat covers with perhaps a luxury wool carpet set.
