Triumph TR8 Uprated Brake Kit
We now supply one type of front Uprated Brake Kit (RB7117) for all TR7 & TR8 conversion applications. This utilises large calipers derived from the Rover SD1 Vitesse and adapted for use with specials vented brake discs suitable for mounting to the 4-stud TR7 hub. This kit cannot be used with standard TR7 (13") wheels because of insufficient running clearance inside the wheel due to the larger calipers. It is therefore necessary to fit a minimum 14" diameter wheel (see 'Road Wheels' for details on our Minilite Replica Wheel Sets) with this kit.
For our long standing customers who have previously purchased an uprated brake kit (solid or vented) using the smaller 4 - pot calipers (RB7090 or RB7137) - retaining the 13" wheels - then we still supply service items for these kits (eg discs, pads, caliper repair kit etc) as listed.
This kit is comprised of components derived from the Rover Vitesse, adapted to fit the standard TR7 4-stud hub, it includes:
2 vented brake discs
2 large '4-pot' calipers
Brake pads
2 braided brake hoses
Fittings & instructions
This kit cannot be used with standard 13" TR7 wheels, minimum 14" wheels must be used for internal clearance.
