For many years, the original Lockheed type slave cylinder was not available, but it has now been reintroduced. During the long period of non-availability, customers with TR2s and early TR3s needing a new slave cylinder had little option other than to fit the Girling TR5 slave cylinder, mounted on the opposite side of the support bracket to the way the Lockheed cylinder was mounted, and the pushrod modified in length to suit the new 'throw' distance.
