Product Description
Triumph TR5-250 Battery and Cables
The electrical system and circuit of the TR5 and TR250 was always negative earth. The battery terminals, when the battery is fitted in the car should be nearer the engine than the bulkhead; some earlier model TRs were opposite to this. The battery earth (negative) terminal is always on the left hand side with its cable connected by one tag to the bulkhead and one tag to a gearbox attachment bolt. These connections provide both body and powerplant battery earth connections from one cable.
During service, different sized batteries may have been fitted to your car compared to that originally specified. When the physical size of the battery is changed the length of the fixing ‘J’ bolts may also change.
We list the applications as original and list the lengths, the correct length required should be established and ordered accordingly.
