Notes on Ordering Trim Colours
Originally there were a diverse range of trim colours for TR2 and TR3 models, some of which were to say the least unusual. You can discover the delights of such hues as Geranium and Targo Purple by referring to the "Paint & Trim Colours" section.
Requests for other more or less tasteful shades (depending on your retina and disposition) were obliged by the factory as special orders.
Common sense and commercial restrictions rule out the reproduction of all the original shades, but having said that there is a good choice of popular colour schemes available, which depending on the model involved would have had matching or contrasting (white) piping. These should satisfy all but the most discerning of originality devotees. Nowadays matching or contrasting piping may be chosen for all models.
Please note that plain black and black with white trim kits are the only stocked items. Trim kits in the other colour schemes listed below are available, but they are not held in stock under normal circumstances and are available to special order.
TR2 - self coloured piping on rear wheel arches; other trim panels not piped. Door liners with trapezoidal pocket apertures. Plain, vinyl covered rear cockpit liner.
TR3 - white piping on rear wheel arches; other trim panels not piped. Door liners as per TR2. Rear cockpit liner features pressed vertical pleats in the vinyl covering. (Please note the tooling to produce these vertical pleats has been lost so our trim kits currently contain a plain rear liner.)
TR3A, to TS60000 - white piping on rear wheel arches, door liners and rear quarter liners. Door liners with kidney pocket apertures. Rear cockpit liner vinyl cover stitched into horizontal pleats.
TR3A, from TS60001 -white piping as per earlier TR3A; door liners now with rounded rear corners and rear wheel arches with higher side panels to match the retooled body. Vinyl cover on rear cockpit liner features similar horizontal pleating pattern to previously, but now formed by heat welding.
