A/B
A = aerosol       B = touch in can

Thus Royal Blue (paint code 56) was available for the 1966-68 model year cars. It is available from Rimmer Bros as an aerosol (part no. RX4063A) or as a touch in can (part no. RX4063B) etc.
Immediately left of each paint colour are the trim colour options available for that particular paint colour.
The dates shown apply to the model years during which the trim colour was available.

Colour match testing should always be carried out prior to application as your car may not be the exact shade as the original.

Paint and Trim Codes
On cars built from 1963 onwards, the commission plate under the bonnet provides information about the vehicle colour, trim material and trim colour.The two digit codes are based on groups formed around a basic colour.

For example, Wedgwood Blue has a code of 26, Royal Blue 56 and Valencia Blue 66 (the sixth colour in the range).
Trim colours used the same codes - Matador Red has a code of 12, while Light Tan trim from the brown range is 13 and Shadow Blue (classified by Triumph as a purple) 27.
The trim material can also be identified.  A prefix letter 'H' in the trim box of the commission plate identifies leather trim whereas the absence of a prefix indicates leathercloth (Vynide or Ambla).

Additional Notes:
Conifer Green was often referred to as Triumph Racing Green.
Primrose and Pale Yellow are regarded as the same colour by most refinishing paint manufacturers.
New White was often referred to simply as White.
Apple Green was never officially listed as an available colour, but significant numbers of cars appeared in the colour during the years quoted.
Midnight Blue trim was officially available on both TR250 and TR5 models, though it is believed that only examples of the TR250 actually received it.
