Rimmer Bros

Errors & Omissions Excepted. All parts offered subject to availability. We reserve the right to alter prices without notice. All part numbers, illustrations and photographs used in our catalogues are intended for reference/identification purposes only, and are not necessarily an exact representation of the goods supplied. Whilst we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of product descriptions in our catalogues, they are based upon information supplied by the manufacturer/ distributor at the time of publication.
There may be occasions - due to circumstances beyond our control - when specifications are changed, or when goods become temporarily unavailable. Certain part numbers have been superseded to an alternative number when a later version or updated specification is offered.
PRICES
We show two prices, one excluding VAT (for worldwide, outside EC countries) and one including VAT at 15% (for UK and EC countries). The cost of delivery should be added to the cost of the part(s).
See delivery. All orders placed will be invoiced and charged in GBP. Any prices shown in US Dollars or Euros are subject to exchange rate fluctuations and are intended for guidance only and cannot be assumed to be wholly accurate. All goods are sold subject to the price ruling at the time of invoicing.
Prices are correct at 02/07/2009, but are subject to change without prior notice.
VAT
Residents of UK and EC countries pay VAT (currently 15%) on parts and delivery. For EC businesses who are VAT registered, we require your VAT number and official order to export at VAT exempt prices. For worldwide (outside the EC) orders sent direct from our premises, VAT is not applicable. N.B. Books and manuals are currently zero rated for VAT purposes.
WRITTEN QUOTATIONS
If you require a written quotation for the part(s) and/or delivery charge(s) before ordering, please ask.
BACK-ORDERS
Back-ordered items are not charged for until despatch. Upon despatch we will charge the price quoted at the time of ordering. Prices will be unaffected by any subsequent price alterations unless advised in writing to you. Please notify us in writing (letter, fax or email) if you wish to cancel any back ordered items.
PART DESCRIPTION
When 'Enquire' appears in the price field, this usually means there is a supply problem, but it is usually worth asking if the part has become available. You may also see 'NCA' (not currently available) or 'NLA' (no longer available), which are self explanatory. 'NSS' means that the particular part is not available separately.
PART SUPERSESSION
Some parts may no longer be available and may have been superseeded by alternatives. Where this has occurred, the system will display a message confirming the supersession together with the details of the latest number.
NEW & RECONDITIONED PARTS
Almost every part we list is sold brand-new, but in many instances we also offer you the facility to buy 'reconditioned' (usually giving us your old component in part exchange). Where there is a reconditioned version of a part, you will find the letter 'R' added to the end of the part number. When new and reconditioned parts are not available, it is possible that a 'used' alternative may be available. You will find these parts listed under the same part number as new but with a 'U' suffix. All used parts have been cleaned and inspected and are sold as serviceable when fitted.
EXCHANGE SURCHARGES (REFUNDABLE)
Where parts are sold on an exchange basis an 'Exchange Surcharge' is applied - a deposit in effect, which is refunded to you when your old unit is received by us. This system allows you to make an exchange without having to send the old unit first.... it can often prevent your vehicle being off the road.
The amount of the Exchange Surcharge is shown together with the price on the Product Information page.
Before returning your old unit please telephone our customer service dept on +44 (0)1522 568000 in order to obtain a returns authorisation number. See reverse of invoice for full details of return procedure. Units must be drained of oil, water and be complete and serviceable. We reserve the right to retain all or part of the surcharge if the unit is irreparable, damaged or not identical to the type supplied.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR PARCELS
When you sign for a parcel, please inspect it carefully. If it has suffered in transit, you can mark the delivery note "Parcel Damaged", before signing, or even refuse delivery in serious cases. We do of course pack carefully and strongly to help avoid these problems!
Some deliveries involve more than one parcel - please check that all have been received.
We must be advised within 48 hours of delivery of any shortages or damaged goods.
RETURNS
Returns of Exchange 'Old Units'
There is no specific time limit for the return of exchange old units. Please contact us prior to returning the old unit for a 'Return Authorisation Number'. This speeds up the process of returning the surcharge refund. See reverse of invoice for full details of returns procedure.
Please note that old core must be complete and serviceable. We reserve the right to retain all or part of the surcharge if the unit is irreparable, damaged or not identical to the type supplied.
Returns of Parts Not Required - within 7 days
All goods sold are covered by the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations, which allow for a seven day 'cooling off' period during which you may cancel your order (in writing) by sending us a letter, fax or e-mail at any time up to and including the seventh working day after the day on which you received your purchase. If you exercise your statutory right to cancel you must immediately return to us (at your own cost), the item(s) that you do not wish to keep. We will acknowledge receipt of your written cancellation by issuing a 'Returns Authorisation Number' which should be quoted and accompanied by a proof of purchase or invoice when returning the goods. Please ensure all goods are adequately packed to avoid damage, that you insure them accordingly with the carrier used and obtain a proof of shipment. Please note that all goods must be in the condition supplied at the point of sale and with their original, undamaged packaging.
Returns of parts not required - within 7 - 28 days
As an added benefit to Rimmer Bros customers and in addition to your statutory cancellation right (as detailed above), returns may be considered outside the 7 day cooling off period up to and including 28 days after you receive your purchase, subject to the following criteria.
Please note that any offset, credit or refund will be at the sole discretion of Rimmer Bros Ltd.
A 'Returns Authorisation Number' must be applied for within the 7 to 28 day period. Where goods have been correctly supplied, it may be possible to offset the full value of the return against another order of the same or higher value. Alternatively, a credit note (for the full value) could be offered. Please note that any cash refund will be subject to a handling charge (typically 15% min £5) to cover administration and re-stocking costs.
All goods returned for a credit or exchange must be accompanied by our invoice quoting the 'Return Authorisation Number'. Please complete the form on the reverse side of the invoice. Goods must be adequately packed to avoid damage. You should insure them accordingly with the carrier and obtain a proof of shipment. No responsibility can be accepted for goods received by us, damaged. Goods must be in the condition supplied at the point of sale and with their original, undamaged packaging.
Returns of Parts Not Required - Outside 28 days
No returns will be considered after 28 days unless covered by the terms and conditions of our warranty.
Other Returns
Other returns will be dealt with in accordance with your statutory rights, if applicable, or our warranty.
Returns Processing
Please note that returns are processed as quickly as possible. During busy periods, especially in the Spring and Summer, returns may take up to 14 days to process.
Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
LOSS IN TRANSIT
If your parcel does not arrive, we have to establish our claim with the carriers concerned before we can send a replacement consignment. This can sometimes be a lengthy process, and if your part is needed urgently, a second order can be paid for to save time. We refund one of your orders as soon as the carriers clear our claim.

WARRANTIES
PARTS WARRANTIES
All new and reconditioned parts are covered by a 12 month manufacturer's warranty unless specifically stated. You should notify us immediately if a potential warranty situation arises. The warranty period commences from our invoice date not from the date of installation or first use. This warranty covers defects to the part when fitted and used correctly for normal, everyday vehicle use but does not apply to parts used for any extraordinary or unusual uses such as competition, racing, rallying or parts subsequently stripped down, altered, modified or adapted etc. in any way from their original design or intended use.
Although we are, by law, liable for death or personal injury caused by our proven negligence and by The Sale of Goods Act 1979, our warranty only covers the parts in question and not to any consequential loss or cost, eg garage labour, recovery, car hire, re-delivery, parking fines etc. No claim will be validated if the failure is caused by mis-use, neglect, overheating, incorrect installation or failure of a related component.
Any part replaced or repaired under warranty, will only benefit from the balance or the cover remaining from the original purchase date. Warranties are not transferable. Acceptance of goods is deemed as acceptance of these terms. The warranties are in addition to, and do not affect your statutory consumer rights.
MAJOR UNIT WARRANTIES
Reconditioned engines (full/short), cylinder heads, gearboxes & axles are covered by a 12,000 mile/12 month (from purchase) warranty (whichever is sooner). There are special warranty terms and conditions that relate to these units for both UK and overseas customers.
Warranties on short engines and cylinder heads will be considered within the 12000 mile/12 month period only when we establish that installation/build up has been correctly carried out. Failure of these units can be influenced by other components or incorrect assembly and as such, is out of our control.
Please refer to our supplementary 'Warranty Terms and Conditions' for full details, copies of which are available on request, prior to sale.
HOW TO CLAIM
In the rare event of a new or reconditioned part becoming faulty, please notify us immediately. It must be returned to us together with the original invoice or proof of purchase with as much information relating to the fault as possible.
Please note that the defective part must be returned and received before it can be exchanged.
