Suspension This section is divided in two: The first part covering vehicles with conventional suspension (ie. coil springs) and the second, vehicles with electronically controlled air suspension (ECAS). Air suspension was introduced in October 1992 as standard equipment on Vogue SE and Vogue LSE models; the rest of the vehicle range retained the conventional suspension arrangement. Also mentioned in the text is the CSK, a special edition 2-door model introduced in 1990 as a promotion for the 'new' anti-roll bar suspension. As well as anti-roll bars, it featured uprated dampers and ABS, to go with its 200 bhp 3.9 Efi engine. Note: anti-roll bar components described in this section are for vehicles with factory-fitted anti-roll bars only. Polyurethane Bushes Polyurethane bushes are a popular alternative to the standard rubber items due to their benefits: superior performance, increased life expectancy (up to 5 times as long as rubber), resistance to oil and grease contamination and ease of fitting. Polyurethane bushes are available as an alternative to most individual suspension bushes and are listed, where available, after the standard item. Complete kits are also available in the Suspension Packages section. |
