Where Differential serial numbers (CH, CL & CM) are quoted in the 'Rear Axle' & 'Differential Gear' Sections (to help identify Factory Specification changes), they relate to the Original units as fitted when the vehicle was new, and not subsequent replacements.
Rear Axles & Diff' gears listed in this section, are as originally fitted by the factory to all 5 speed Manual, and all Automatics from VIN 402001. Axles for vehicles with 5 speed Manual gearboxes are prefixed 'CH' (diff ratio 3.90:1), and 'CL' (opional diff ratio 3.45:1). Automatics are prefixed 'CM' (diff ratio 3.08:1).
