In this TR8 Cooling & Heating section, apart from listing parts/components that relate solely to the TR8, we have also listed the appropriate Radiator (with the correct hose connections), Kenlowe Electric Fan, and Steel Header Tank (as well as the appropriate service items), that we strongly advise you fit when converting your TR7 to TR8, especially if you are fitting or have fitted 3.5/3.9 performance engine/parts.

Water Pump & Fan Clearance
To allow sufficient clearance for the water pump, we supply the brackets required to move the radiator forward. It is usually not possible to re-use the SD1 fan assembly due to clearance problems, so we recommend the Kenlowe Electric Fan Kit (RB7065) - which mounts in front of the radiator. We also supply a water pump pulley to fit either type of water pump when installing a Kenlowe fan kit.

Important Note;
When converting a TR7 to TR8 specification we recommend that the TR8 radiator is fitted which can adequately cope with cooling the V8. Our TR8 radiators are fitted with the correct core and neck diameters with hose inlet/outlets positioned correctly to match the engines cooling system. To allow sufficient clearance for the water pump the radiator has to be moved forward by using the TR8 upper and lower mounting brackets.
