Although a stainless steel exhaust costs a little bit more than a mild steel equivalent, the small additional outlay is far outweighed by the advantages of the lifetime guarantee, giving you trouble free motoring, and if you are planning to keep your TR7/TR8 for any length of time, it is a first class investment.
All our exhausts in this section are manufactured from high quality stainless steel, and are designed to fit correctly when the original TR8 specification subframe is used (which acts as a datum for engine/transmission position). If a modified TR7 subframe is fitted then you will only overcome fitting/clearance problems by modifying the exhaust system.
To achieve maximum performance from any engine modifications you may have carried out, it is recommended that the exhaust system is selected accordingly. Although it is down to personal choice as to which exhaust system best suits your requirements or expectations, here we give descriptions for each exhaust system we supply for the TR8.

All systems supplied Less Cast Iron Manifolds.
System as fitted to original specification TR8's using cast iron manifolds, twin centre boxes & twin tailpipes. For those people who want originality, this is the exhaust system to fit.
Similar to 'Quiet' system but with a 'H' pipe replacing twin centre boxes.
All systems supplied complete with Tubular Extractor Manifolds.
You can specify Mild or Stainless Steel manifolds.
This exhaust is based on the original TR8 layout with twin centre boxes & tailpipes, but supplied with our 4 branch tubular extractor manifolds.
Similar to 'Quiet' system but with a 'H' pipe replacing twin centre boxes.
System supplied complete with Tubular Extractor Manifolds.
For those who want something that little bit different, this exhaust is based on the BL MotorSport rally system. Fed by two 4 branch tubular extractor manifolds, the separate large bore (2 1/4" Od) inter-pipes connect into a 'straight through' rear silencer which has a 3" bore single tailpipe.
This section includes original TR8 cast iron manifolds, SD1 cast iron manifolds and our performance tubular extractor manifolds, plus individual replacement/part systems.
These manifolds are a must for those people who wish to retain (or return to) original TR8 specification.
Although not recommended for the TR8 application, these manifolds can be fitted when used with our special SD1 down pipes, but because of clearance problems, the downpipes usually require some modification.
Our 4 branch tubular manifolds are designed to extract the exhaust gases far more efficiently than the original TR8 cast iron manifolds, and whether you order them separately, or in a complete performance exhaust system, you can specify high quality Mild or Stainless Steel.

Although not recommended for the TR8 conversion, it is possible to fit the SD1 type manifolds (using the downpipes listed here), to couple to one of our TR8 twin outlet exhaust systems. However, clearance problems usually necessitates modification of the down pipes. We suggest you fit either standard (original) TR8 manifolds, or Tubular Extractor manifolds for easy installation.
