TR8 Transmission Details
In this TR8 Transmission & Axles section, apart from listing parts/components that relate solely to the TR8, we have also listed a 5 speed (heavy duty) gearbox, and rear axle units, that you may wish to consider fitting when converting your TR7 to TR8, especially if you are fitting or have fitted 3.5/3.9 performance engine/parts.

V8 Gearbox - 5 Speed (Heavy duty)



    Although you can re-use your existing TR7 5sp gearbox in the TR8 conversion, we offer a Heavy Duty V8 5sp gearbox which is a more robust unit to cope with the power increase. Please refer to main TR7 5 speed gearbox section for all gearbox internals, gear selector shafts & gearchange not listed here.

V8 Rear Axle


    Although you can re-use your existing TR7 5 speed rear axle in the TR8 conversion, we recommend fitting the TR8 axle (3.08:1 ratio), which will give you a more suitably geared vehicle. Please refer to main TR7 Rear Axle (5 speed) section for rear axle/differential components.

    Reconditioned, less half shafts.

    *Fitted with new crown wheel & pinion.
Rear Axle & LSD (Limited Slip Differential);
    Recondioned, less halfshafts. Fitted with new Limited Slip Differential.

    *Fitted with new crown wheel & pinion.
