Sprint/1850 Water Pumps
If unsure as to the type of pump fitted to your vehicle, the pump cover will have to be removed to check the number of vanes on the impeller. (Note: pumps & covers cannot be interchanged between 6 & 12 vane types, a 12 vane pump must be fitted with a 12 vane cover). A slide hammer (part no RB7009), is usually required to extract the pump from the cylinder block (or improvise) - Note Left Hand thread on bolt. If the pump is difficult to remove, it may leave the brass cage in the cylinder block, this may be prised out carefully. It is also worth checking the condition of the pump spindle bush (part no 145022), located in the cylinder block, and replace if necessary.
