4 Speed Gearbox & Re-fitting the Bellhousing
There are 2 very important points to note when re-fitting the bellhousing to the gearbox:
1) Ensure the 3 tension springs (137532) are inserted in the front lower section of the gearbox casing.
2) Ensure the correct length bolts are fitted, if they are too long it may result in them protruding and fouling the internals.
Re-fitting the 4 Speed Propshaft
As recommended by British Leyland, when replacing or re-fitting the propshaft on vehicles fitted with 4 speed manual gearbox, the propshaft should be 'reversed', ie CV joint to the rear axle.
