Power Steering
Power Steering Rack Identification
There are various different makes of PAS rack, each of which will fit any model. However, some early vehicles had a PAS rack with a pinion housing of 65mm (Dimension 'A'). These must be replaced with the same to correctly mate with the lower shaft. (Dimension 'A' on all other racks is 100mm). Some racks have a removable LH mounting bracket, which is no longer available and not supplied with replacement racks. Therefore it must be retained for refitting.

Some vehicles were fitted with a longer steering shaft, mating to a PAS rack with a short pinion housing. These early shafts are no longer available. Instead use rubber coupling RO1054 to replace the worn item, or replace both rack and shaft with later items.
