Seat Foams & Fasteners

TR7 Seat Covers
During its period of manufacture, the TR7 was supplied with a variety of seat trim - both in material and pattern, and the changeover periods are not very well documented.
The most popular original seat trim specification ranged mainly from a plain 'Ribbed Velour' (and sometimes plain Vinyl) in Black & Beige for early vehicles, to vinyl covers with a 'checked' cloth insert (Black with a Red check insert, Black with Green check, Tan with Tan, & Blue with Blue), and for late European TR7's and TR8's, a plain 'Velour' type material in Tan or Blue. There were a few other trim combinations (for export markets), such as Chestnut, Emerald Green, Grey etc, but these trim colours were not fitted in great numbers, and so the likelihood of finding original covers is virtually nil.
For those people who wish to use nothing other than original factory trim, we do have limited stocks of certain seat covers in plain 'Ribbed Velour' (and plain vinyl) in Black & Beige, vinyl covers with check cloth inserts in Black with Red check and Black with Green, and a few plain 'Velour' covers. Please refer to current price guide or phone for availability.
To overcome the supply situation, we have re-manufactured TR7 seat covers in Blue with Blue check and Tan with Tan check and they are virtually identical to the original upholstery. As an alternative to our Blue & Tan check, we also offer Black vinyl covers with an alternative Black Cloth insert, and plain vinyl covers with vertical pleats in Black, Beige, Blue & Tan.
For that real touch of luxury - consider Leather covers in Black, Blue or Tan. (Note: Beige leather covers are supplied in a lighter shade - 'Biscuit', which is only available in our complete Interior Trim Kits.
We urge you to fit covers in car sets, as it is difficult to colour match seat covers that have probably faded after 15 years of use!
If we are unable to offer you the original factory trim covers that you require in sets (eg; Red or Green check), then why not consider a colour change and/or bring your early TR7 trim up to the later model specification by fitting one of our comprehensive Interior re-trim kits which include seat covers, headrest trim, door trim panels, armrests, interior trim panels, carpets etc.
We have kits available for both Convertible & Coupe models (covering manual & automatics, RHD & LHD), and they come in a choice of 5 trim colours; Black, Beige, Biscuit, Blue and Tan, with additional Leather options.

Special note-Door trim panels
Due to a small internal modification to the door frame to accommodate the later type square locking knob door trim panel, it is not possible to fit the late type door trim panels to the early type doors (round locking knob), unless a recess is fabricated.
We are a company dedicated to preserving the Triumph marque, and to that end we will endeavour, wherever possible, to reintroduce interior trim items that are currently unobtainable.
To help you identify the trim fitted to your vehicle, we have listed the most popular (original) TR7 seat trim, as well as the trim covers that we have had re-manufactured, and wherever possible we have utilised the original BL factory part numbering/colour identification system.


We strongly recommend you fit all items of trim in pairs or vehicle sets, to ensure a colour match.

Seat Belts & Fittings

Availability of Original Seat Belts
Inertia reel units for the Convertible are no longer available from the factory. We currently hold limited stocks of inertia reel units for the early Coupe (vertical mounted), and also original seat mounted belt stalks (which fit all models). Once these stocks are exhausted, we recommend that you fit a pair of our replacement seat belt kits.

Replacement Seat Belts
Our universal mounting seat belt kits are suitable for all Convertible and Coupe models. The kits (per seat), comprise of an inertia reel unit and a seat mounted stalk. Our kits must be installed as a seat set, because the belt fastener (buckle) will not fit the original type seat mounted stalk since the fittings differ. For this reason (and for appearance's sake) we recommend fitting our seat belt kits as a car set (2 kits). Please refer to the following listings and photograph for full details.

CARPET SETS

A Full Range of Carpets for the TR7
Original factory carpet sets for the TR7 have been unavailable for many years. Although it may still be possible to obtain the odd carpet piece for floor or tunnel, achieving a true colour match with your existing carpets (which have probably faded), would be virtually impossible.
We overcame this supply problem in 1982 when we developed a full range of tailored carpet sets for the Convertible & Coupe models, for both RHD & LHD versions. (Note: Convertible carpet sets also include the carpets for the rear cockpit/hood stowage area).
You can choose between High Quality Tufted Pile carpet, or Luxury Wool. All our carpet sets - which come with large sewn in heel mats and bound leathercloth edges - are available in a large choice of colours.

High Quality Tufted Pile Carpets
These carpets are made from a high quality tufted pile material, and are excellent value for money. Since 1982 we have supplied countless numbers of these ever popular carpet sets.

Luxury Wool Carpets
For something that little bit special, treat yourself (and your TR7) to a set of our Luxury Wool carpets. They are made from 80% wool with a mixture of 20% nylon (for extra toughness). They may seem a little extravagant, but you really do get what you pay for!

Carpet Underfelt Kit
If you are fitting new carpets, or just refitting your own, we recommend you also fit carpet underfelt for improved sound proofing and prolonged carpet life.
